Kuro aparatūra

Kuro aparatūra (Eng. 'Fuel apparatus') was a fuel pump and injection nozzle factory, the largest industrial company from 1959 to 2002 in Vilnius .

history

The company was founded as Vilniaus kuro aparatūros gamykla . It produced the distribution high pressure fuel pumps, closed-end sprayers for the tractors and internal combustion engines. In 1965, it began producing distributing fuel pumps as the first in the USSR . In 1983 the company had 7,200 employees.

In 1990 it became "Vilniaus valstybinė kuro aparatūros gamykla" and in 1993 it became akcinė bendrovė (AG) with 10,000 employees. In 2000, private owners acquired the state majority stake and took over the company, which at the time was 60 million litas in debt. In 2001 the turnover was 24 million Lt, there were about 1,000 workers, 63 million LTL in debt. In 2002 bankruptcy proceedings were opened.
