Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is an art museum in Richmond .
The museum opened in 1936. The museum is owned by the US state of Virginia . The museum building was designed in 1934 by the American architect Merrill Lee .
In 1947 the museum received the collection of the American entrepreneur John Lee Pratt . This collection included five Fabergé eggs . Leslie Cheek, Jr. was the museum director from 1948 to 1968.
