Viscount Davidson
Viscount Davidson , of Little Gaddesden in the County of Hertford , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .
Award
The title was created on June 11, 1937 for the conservative politician Sir JCC Davidson . He had been a Member of the House of Commons for 17 years and also Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster for several years .
Another title
The wife of the first Viscount Frances Davidson, Viscountess Davidson , was elected to succeed her husband in his constituency as a member of the House of Commons, of which she was a member until October 1959. In 1964 she was promoted to Life Peeress as Baroness Northchurch , of Chiswick in the County of Middlesex . The couple were thus one of the very few married couples who also had a seat in the House of Lords .
