Viscount Ingleby

Viscount Ingleby , of Snilesworth in the North Riding of the County of York , was a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

The Viscount family residence was Snilesworth Lodge near Osmotherley in North Yorkshire .

Award

The title was created on January 17, 1956 for the conservative politician Osbert Peake . He was Minister for National Insurance from 1951 to 1953 and Minister for Pensions and National Insurance from 1953 to 1955.

The title expired on the death of his son, the 2nd Viscount, on October 14, 2008, as his only son Richard had died childless in 1975.
