Vitalis from Blois
Vitalis von Blois , Latinized Vitalis Blesensis, was a Middle Latin French poet of the 12th century. He is known for the comedies Geta (around 1150) and Aulularia (Querolus, around 1175).
The themes are taken from the comedies of Plautus Amphitruo (in Geta) and Aulularia and influenced by Ovid . The main character in Geta is not a general, as in Plautus, but a philosopher, and the comedy is also a satire on sophistic contemporary philosophers.
He was probably a teacher at the Cathedral School in Blois .
