The Vivacon AG was a real estate company based in Cologne. The company was a member of the SDAX until June 22, 2009 .

In 2007 the company made a profit of 56.2 million euros. In November 2008 Vivacon withdrew its profit forecast of 60 million euros for 2008. Later it was announced that a group loss of between 160 and 170 million euros was expected because special effects had burdened the result with 140 million euros; therefore you don't pay a dividend. On May 29, 2009, the company issued an ad hoc announcement that it was in an acute liquidity crisis. In 2009 the company generated sales of 138.5 million euros with a loss of 51.1 million euros.

In June 2009, four property companies of the Vivacon AG group filed for insolvency at the Cologne District Court due to insolvency. The location-related high vacancy rate in the real estate portfolio created a liquidity gap that could not be closed in the short term. Therefore, this application for insolvency was made as part of restructuring efforts and to secure the liquidity of the Vivacon Group. On October 1, 2013 Vivacon AG again filed for insolvency in self-administration with the Cologne District Court , which was opened on January 1, 2014.

Vivacon AG had concentrated on a single business area as part of the restructuring that was started due to the financial difficulties, the area of leasehold . The other activities have been discontinued, for example trading in real estate packages, asset management and the development, conception, construction and sale of residential construction projects.

On May 28, 2014 it was announced that Vivacon AG's business operations would be discontinued as of July 31, 2014 due to the lack of a positive forecast.
