Vive la Fete

Vive la Fête ( French for "long live the party") is a Belgian band that makes electronic independent music. It was founded in Ghent in 1997 by Danny Mommens and Els Pynoo .

history

In 1997 the former dEUS bass player Danny Mommens and his girlfriend Els Pynoo got together to make music inspired by electroclash and electro pop . Most of the pieces are sung by Pynoo, Mommens plays guitar and also sings on some of the pieces. Later Ben Brunin (bass), Marc Requilé (keyboard) and Jan D'Hooghe (drums) joined them. Already with the first albums Attaque Surprise (2000) and République Populaire (2001) Vive la Fête celebrated success in the fashion world, for example, they composed the music for the 2002 Chanel fashion shows .
