Vlčí hrádek

Vlčí hrádek , also Hrad u Vlčí Hory (German: Wolfsburg ) are the remains of a rock castle near Vlčí Hora ( Wolfsberg ) in Bohemian Switzerland in the Czech Republic .

The castle is located on a boulder above the Rakosovy důl ( reed bed ) on the eastern edge of Bohemian Switzerland. The eponymous village of Vlčí Hora is only a little to the east .

Little is known about the history of the small castle complex, and the original castle name has not been passed down to this day. Presumably it was founded in the first half of the 14th century.

Today there are only a few traces of the formerly wooden castle complex. In the rocks there are still some chiseled rooms and the beam supports of the former wooden structures. Traces of the former drawbridge can still be found above the neck ditch .
