Sumkar stone stupa

The Sumkar stone stupa ( Chinese  松卡 石塔 , Pinyin Sōngkǎ shítǎ ) is a famous Buddhist stone stupa near the Samye temple and monastery complex in Dranang Dzong County , Lhokha administrative district on the north bank of the Yarlung River ( Brahmaputra ), near Lhasa in the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China .

It dates from the second half of the 8th century.

The stone stupa has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China in Tibet (6-762) since 2006 .
