Vogt and Weizenegger

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Vogt + Weizenegger (V + W) is a design company in Berlin , founded in 1993 by Oliver Vogt (born 1966 in Essen ) and Hermann Weizenegger (born 1963 in Kempten (Allgäu) ). The two designers are students of Hans (Nick) Roericht , a representative of the Ulm School of Design (HfG). Her concept radicalizes the pragmatic-sociological approach of the HfG and von Roericht, and sees, in the tradition of the Bauhaus , the importance of the object in its use. Vogt + Weizenegger see the user of their designs as a “prosumer” in the sense of the futurologist and sociologist Alvin Toffler . H. as a consumer and producer at the same time who creates his own world. The design company was dissolved.
