Volcker Commission (Iraq)

The second so-called Volcker Commission , officially "Independent Inquiry Committee into the United Nations Oil-for-Food Program" (Eng .: Independent Inquiry into oil-for-food program of the United Nations ), was a commission of inquiry of the UN , investigating the of corruption allegations related to the oil-for-food program in Iraq .

The committee was set up by UN Secretary General Kofi Annan in April 2004. The commission was named after its chairman, the former chairman of the US Federal Reserve Bank Paul Volcker . Other members were the South African judge Richard Goldstone and the Swiss criminal law professor Mark Pieth . The committee had 60 members and a budget of $ 30 million taken from the oil-for-food program.

The Commission published its interim report in February 2005 and the final report at the end of October 2005.
