Volksdampf is a music and cabaret ensemble from Upper Swabia .

history

The cabaret group Volksdampf was founded in 1981 by students from the Weingarten University of Education as a political street music band .

Mike Jörg joined the founding members Reiner Muffler, Franz Wohlfahrt, Christoph Seitz, Tina Weng and Harald Cordes in 1982. Under his influence, Volksdampf quickly developed into a sought-after amateur cabaret.

With Uli Bohner (since 1987), Lisa Greiner (since 1990) and Suso Engelhardt (since 1997) the ensemble continued to professionalize. After Mike Jörg left in 1999, the group appeared as a quartet with Bohner, Engelhardt, Greiner and Muffler in southern Germany. Volksdampf has continued to exist as a trio since Uli Bohner's death in 2009.
