People's Commissariat for the Food Industry

The People's Commissariat of Food Industry of the USSR ( Russian Народный комиссариат пищевой промышленности СССР ; Transcription: Narodny Komissariat pischtewoj promyschlennosti SSSR in short, Narkompischtscheprom; russ Наркомпищепром.) Was an agency of the Soviet Union , which controlled food production and led.

history

The People's Commissariat for the Food Industry was founded on July 29, 1934 at Stalin's suggestion. It was created by splitting the People's Commissariat for Supply of the USSR into two independent People's Commissariats : the People's Commissariat for Internal Trade of the USSR and the People's Commissariat for Food Industry of the USSR.

In 1936 the entire wine production of the Soviet Union was also subordinated to the People's Commissariat for the Food Industry. The People's Commissariat was transformed into the Ministry of Food Industry of the USSR in 1946.
