Solid image
Under Volltonabbildung refers evenly covered, not rastered areas or lines. The picture arises from the contrast between the colored picture element and the color of the usually white paper.
As opaque document can be:
- Pen drawings (line art)
- two-dimensional drawings
- all kinds of linoleum & woodcuts
When reproducing images from full-tone originals, it should be noted that each original must be free of any dirt or damage, as otherwise a perfect result cannot be guaranteed. Fine lines can quickly run into one another and thus impair or even falsify the image quality .
