Full insurance

According to the legal definition in § 4 General Social Insurance Act (ASVG), full insurance means compulsory insurance in the Austrian general social insurance system, which includes health , accident and pension insurance (§ 2 Paragraph 1 Item 1 ASVG). Full insurance exists if such is neither excluded by law (§§ 5, 6 ASVG) nor only partial insurance exists in individual branches of social insurance (§§ 7, 8 ASVG). Insurance in the event of unemployment essentially follows compulsory health insurance (Section 1 of the Unemployment Insurance Act 1977).

Fully insured are particularly dependent employed employees who personal in a ratio and economic dependency are employed for remuneration (§ 4 para. 2 ASVG). In any case, this includes people who are paid with a service check in accordance with the Service Check Act as well as people who are subject to wage tax . Certain people would be acc. 4 ASVG per se are fully insured, but according to Section 7 ASVG is only insured in health, accident or pension insurance. The insurance excluded under the ASVG exists for these persons according to other statutory provisions, for example the pension insurance for workers of Austria Tabakwerke AG or the Austrian State Printing House (§ 7 Z 1 lit a, b ASVG) or the person concerned already receives an insurance benefit like the recipient a pension that is only partially insured by health insurance (Section 8 (1) no. 1 lit a ASVG).
