Volosko
Volosko (German Voloska) is a fishing village on the Kvarner Bay in Croatia and is now part of the tourist area of Opatija .
Volosko is first mentioned in a document in 1543 . The old narrow streets and the two lighthouses of Volosko represent a kind of counterpoint to the hotel and recreation landscape of Abbazias / Opatija, which was artificially created by the Austrian Southern Railway Company from 1884 onwards. The Hungarian politician Gyula Andrássy died in Volosko on February 18, 1890 .
Today, Volosko is a tourist destination . The Lungomare of Abbazia begins here, you will find numerous fish restaurants and the small port of the village, "Mandrac", is the site of an annual painting competition.
