Volte (magic art)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A volte is a handle in which a deck of cards is lifted invisible to the viewer. This process is called hitting a volte .

There are several techniques for performing this trick. Often times, the techniques are quite difficult to learn and require a great deal of practice. However, the magician cannot strike the volte completely invisibly .

Therefore, the current specialist literature often recommends avoiding this trick or using alternative techniques.

The volte can be performed under the guise of various natural movements within the art of magic:

Invisible volte

Here the artist evidently equalizes the card game, but performs a volte so that the viewer's card z. B. is back on top of the game.

Turn volte

Here, the magician shows the viewer the card game from all sides to demonstrate that he is nowhere holding a finger in the game with which he can memorize the position of the card. During this spin of the deck of cards, the artist performs the volte.

Equalization voltage

The magician takes back the spectator's card and equalizes the deck of cards by briefly pushing the deck open. The volte is performed during this movement.

Artist

Peter Cassford released an instructional video describing various techniques of the volte.
