Pravý Blok , German: Right Block , is a Czech political party . It was founded by former dissident Petr Cibulka and registered on March 29, 1996.

Even after the end of the communist dictatorship, the party sees no democratic conditions in the Czech Republic, but rather a post-communist dictatorship in power. Her main goal is to eliminate what she calls the “spy cracy” of the communists, who are accused of “totalitarian regime and enslavement” in the Czech Republic, to achieve direct democracy, which is to be achieved, among other things, by integrating all right-wing forces.

Name of the party

The original name of the party was Pravý blok, also abbreviated to PB. Over time, the leader of the Cibulka party expanded the name and eventually (gradually) formulated it as an abbreviated version of the party program. One of the abbreviations used today is (except occasionally Pravý blok) Volte Pravý Blok www.cibulka.net (German: Choose the right blok, supplemented by the URL of the founder).

The name of the party is striking not only because of its length (270 words), but also because of the use of bold (continuous) and capital letters. Because the rules of spelling are not binding and the legislation of the Czech Republic does not provide for a party name, the party was not only registered under the name created in each case, but also competed in the elections under this name.

history

The establishment of the Pravý blok party is one of the activities of former dissident Petr Cibulka, who was imprisoned several times under the communist regime. He registered the party with the Interior Ministry in 1996.

Only in the elections to the European Parliament did the party achieve just over 1 percent of the vote, which justified the right to state electoral subsidies; In 2009 there were 23,612 votes, which meant an increase of 23 votes above the 1 percent mark. Nevertheless, the party found a media presence that exceeded the election results.

Election results

The party has taken part in a number of elections since it was founded without achieving any notable success:
