Volxrox , also spelled VolXRoX , is a Swiss dialect rock band from the Emmental , which sings French and Swiss-German lyrics.

Band history

Until 2014, singer and Örgeli player Simu Lüthi was active as a folk musician with his father as the musical duo Simu & Simu. When his father quit, he founded the band Volxrox with the Bernese Pietro Catale, Edy Oberli and Küre Müller and Alain Boog from Aargau (2013 participant in The Voice of Switzerland ) . Although the band still uses pieces from the popular music era, musically they oriented themselves towards rock 'n' roll , rockabilly and boogie-woogie . They became known through the Swiss Wrestling and Alpine Festival 2016 in Estavayer , for which they contributed the song Kampf ume Thron, written by Lüthi and his wife, as the event anthem. They then went to number 7 on the Swiss charts with their debut album, Swiss Wörker Musig . In 2017 they took part in the TV show Job Swap and swapped two members with a Mexican mariachi band.

Some time passed before their next album. In the meantime they devoted themselves to the family, among other things, but there was also a change of line-up: Catale left the band and was replaced by guitarists Arian Frey and Louis Schütz. Album number two followed in 2019 with the title Familie-Fest . It was produced by Thomas J. Gyger, who is also the producer of Gölä . Once again they entered the top 10 and reached number 7 on the album charts.
