Vomitory was a Lower Saxony thrash metal band from Meppen that was founded in 1988 and disbanded in 2001.
history
The band was formed in 1988. In 1990 the EP Catastrophical Expectations was released . In the same year bassist Christoph “Cheesy” Schaffer joined them, whereupon the demo Witches & Demons appeared in 1991 . In 1991 the group signed a record deal with D&S Records . The debut album Hour of Truth was released in the same year . After the guitarist Steve Kocsis was added, the second album Baschlasophobic followed in 1993 . After the last album was released in 1996 under the name Rawhead , it came to a dissolution in 2001.
style
According to rockdetector.com , the band allows funk influences to flow into their Thrash Metal. For classicthrash.com , Catastrophical Expectations was quick, unpretentious, and believable. The group play straightforward and energetic Thrash Metal, which is not a milestone in the genre, but is short and entertaining. Hour of Truth offers ordinary Thrash Metal that doesn't come with any big surprises. Baschlasophobic is more variable and technically somewhat more demanding, but still contains no surprises. The songs are hardly memorable, but a bit more experimental than their predecessors, which doesn't always improve the songs. An example of this are the occasional funk elements that would not fit into the songs.
