Preliminary course
In the Bavarian school system, a preliminary course is a support measure for children with a non-German mother tongue and little knowledge of German. In the last year of kindergarten attendance, the children receive three hours a week of special German lessons that prepare them for later lessons. These lessons usually take place at the future Sprengelschule and are carried out by primary school teachers . This support is often continued in the German learning group in the first few years of school attendance .
