Bridging course

A bridging course is a course or a set of courses that aims to bring the knowledge of new students to a more uniform level. It is of particular use to students with gaps in knowledge or memory gaps (e.g. because they are 'no longer in the subject' after military service or training). A preparatory course , also known as a "preliminary course", can also pursue this goal.
