Preview

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A pre-premiere is a first performance of a work of the performing arts before the official premiere .

Depending on the context and the marketing intentions of the organizer, this can mean a performance with an audience between the dress rehearsal and the premiere or simply a public dress rehearsal. In commercial theater around the mid-20th century, especially on Broadway , a longer series of previews was common for every major production : tryouts at a location other than the premier location and previews at the premier location.

A preview is also called a film showing before the official start, which usually takes place one day earlier, which has become very widespread in recent years. As sneak previews (surprise premieres) there are such previews several weeks before the official premiere.
