The redhead beanie is constantly in trouble with his goldfish "Admiral Bubbles" because it usually turns out to be very mean and malicious. His goal is to usurp world domination and to do this he is constantly developing new ingenious ideas, inventions and strategies. However, Beanie tries to thwart these plans and opposes the machinations of his pet.

The series has been produced by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and Sardine Productions in Canada since 2006. This resulted in 26 episodes.

The series first aired on September 9, 2006 on CBC Television . The German premiere took place on February 5, 2017 on Junior . Further repetitions were made on ORF one .
