Vorwärts Kornharpen was a football club from the Bochum district of Kornharpen . The greatest success in the club's history was the promotion of the first men's team to the Oberliga Westfalen in summer 2003.

history

The club was founded in 1929 as SV Vorwärts Kornharpen , but real successes were a long time coming. After establishing himself as a national league team at the end of the 1990s, he was promoted to the association league in the 2000/01 season , and two years later he was able to qualify as second in group 2 for the Oberliga Westfalen. In the first year of membership in the upper league ranked ninth , a season later , as the penultimate, was relegated to fifth division. Kornharpen plays its home games in the “Karl Hirsch Stadium”, which has a capacity of around 5,000 spectators. In March 2009, SV Vorwärts Kornharpen filed for bankruptcy and withdrew its team from the current game operations in the Westphalia League.

Successor club

This was followed by the re-establishment as FC Vorwärts Kornharpen 2009 , which promptly relegated from the state league. After two relegations in a row, FC Vorwärts reached the district league B in 2018.
