VOTA (formerly known as Casting Pearls) is a Christian rock band from Lincoln, Nebraska (USA). The front man is Bryan Olesen , former guitarist for the band Newsboys . Bassist is Case Maranville, drummer Scott Rutz, keyboard and second guitar is played by Riley Friesen. The band is under contract with INO Records .
Vota released her first album in 2004, "Casting Pearls". In 2009 the group brought out their new album, Vota, at the same time as the band was renamed (to avoid confusion with the Christian group Casting Crowns ).
