Vox Luminis
Vox Luminis is a Belgian vocal ensemble that has existed since 2004 and is primarily dedicated to the vocal music of Italy and Germany of the 17th and 18th centuries.
history
The Ensemble Vox Luminis was created on the initiative of the French flautist and trumpeter Lionel Meunier (* 1981) at the time he was studying singing at the Conservatory of The Hague. The first performance was a concert at the IMEP Music Academy (Institut Supérieur de Musique et de Pédagogie) in Namur . Since then it has been available in variable line-ups ( continuo group and other instrumentalists), the core consists of 8 to 13 vocalists and 2 continuo musicians.
The ensemble has performed in concerts in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Croatia and Germany. In addition, there have so far been six CD recordings with the Belgian record label Ricercar, each of which has received various awards (Prize of the German Record Critics, Editors Choice from Grammophone Magazine, Muse d'or des Baroque magazines, four stars from Le Monde de la Musique). Record reviews emphasize the clear sound, the quality of the soloists and the balanced ensemble sound.
