Voyages Television is a global destination marketing and travel product distribution platform via television, Internet, Internet television ( IPTV ) and video on demand . The company's focus is on the six main markets (China, India, Japan, USA, Great Britain and Germany), which make up a large proportion of the luxury travel segment. In addition to advertising and sponsorship income, the sale of vacation trips to its viewers is the main source of income. In line with the broadcaster's philosophy, all contributions, regardless of their format, contain at least one travel offer that relates to the holiday destinations or to the lifestyle content that is being discussed.

The program schedule is designed around a series of changing focus topics, which change monthly and serve as a focal point for consumers and the broadcaster's marketing and communication programs. These themes can be based on a travel destination (e.g., the Caribbean) or on a lifestyle theme (e.g., wellness).

With its headquarters in Hong Kong and production sites in Hanover, Shanghai, Mumbai, Taipei and New York, Voyages can currently be received around the clock in over 40 million households with cable or satellite connections. Voyages is also available on the Internet. The company plans to launch a video on demand service in 2007 and to provide a broadband Internet television ( IPTV ) service in early 2008 .

Company history

Television Voyages Ltd. was founded in late 2001 by a group of Hong Kong-based investors. In line with the company's strategy of targeting the Chinese-speaking markets in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan, the initial production location was in Taipei. The original service was made available to 520,000 cable households in TaiChung on April 4, 2002.

Due to the success of the then young station, Voyages has increased its distribution in Taiwan and now includes the city and county of Taipei. In addition, the station was expanded to other countries. The company's expansion plans were interrupted in 2003 by the SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) outbreak in Asia. After the SARS epidemic was over and the travel industry returned to normal, the company opened offices in Hong Kong (2004), India (2005) and Germany (2006). In 2007 the company plans to launch Voyages in North America, followed by Great Britain and Northern Ireland in 2008.

In line with the development of the channel Voyages, the company has launched vacation websites in various languages and is now preparing to launch a broadband-based offering that includes over 2000 hours of travel destination and lifestyle programming.
