A volcanic field (s: Volcanic field ) is a larger collection of volcanoes , mostly cinder cones and crater lakes , but also Tuffringe or small shield volcanoes occur. In many cases it is a question of monogenetic volcanoes , then one speaks of the monogenetic volcanic field .

Typically volcanic fields have a diameter of 30 to 80 km and are home to 10 to 100, in individual cases over 1000 volcanoes.
