Vytautas Bogušis

Vytautas Bogušis (born January 2, 1959 in Puvočiai , Varėna Rajongemeinde ) is a Lithuanian dissident and politician.

Life

In 1976 he was removed from middle school because of his religious and political views. From 1977 to 1979 he served in the Soviet Army. From 1983 to 1991 he worked as an engineer in the Vilnius Youth Theater .

From 1979 to 1988 he was a member of the anti-Soviet organization Lietuvos laisvės lyga , from 1980 a member of the Lithuanian Helsinki Group . From 1989 he was a member of Lietuvos krikščionių Demokratieų partija , from 2000 to 2003 he headed the Modernieji krikščionys demokratai party , and from 2003 he was vice chairman of Lietuvos liberalų ir centro sąjunga (LiCS).

From 1990 to 1995 and from 2003 to 2004 he was a member of the Vilnius City Council , from 1990 to 1992 Deputy Chairman of the Council, from 1992 to 2000 and from 2004 to 2012 a member of the Seimas .
