WDR5 KiRaKa (until September 3, 2012: Lilipuz, radio for children) is the children's program on WDR 5 .

WDR5 KiRaKa is broadcast Monday to Sunday between 19.05 and 20.00. The program is aimed primarily at children of primary school age. The topics addressed can (similar to the broadcast with the mouse or knowledge makes Ah! ) Also be of interest to adults.

The program offers radio plays and interactions with listeners via telephone and internet, reports, knowledge contributions (such as the educational series Herzfunk), comedy and music. An integral part of the program is the clicker , in which the daily news is presented to the listeners in a child-friendly manner. The clicker has been part of the program since 1990. This is the oldest children's news program on German radio that is still broadcast today.

During school time, the WDR5 KiRaKa team visits a primary school and prepares the current programs of the week with children. Under the motto “KiRaKa is coming” , it will be broadcast live on Friday from the host school or with the students in the studio. The program pursues media-educational goals (how is radio, how is news made?) And is also intended to raise awareness of the target group of eight to 11-year-old children more about the radio medium .

A moderator team consisting of Ismi Mona, Elke Hofmann, Paulus Müller, Verena Specks-Ludwig, Sarah Ziegler, Nina Heuser, Johannes Döbbelt, Ralph Erdenberger and Christian Schmitt will lead the program.

Since autumn 2006, WDR5 KiRaKa has also been running on the full digital children's channel KiRaKa . The KiRaKa offer also includes the Bärenbude , which is broadcast daily from 6:30 p.m. in the KiRaKa digital program or via internet stream (www.kiraka.de).
