Fabrizio Guidi
Fabrizio Guidi (born April 13, 1972 in Pontedera ) is a former Italian cyclist .
During his professional career from 1995 to 2007, Guidi was particularly successful as the winner of the day in stage races . At the Giro d'Italia he won a total of two stages, once the points and three times the Intergiro classification . At the Vuelta a España 1998 he won three stages and the points classification . In addition, he won numerous sections of smaller tours. Several times he was able to win the overall classification of smaller stage races, including the Tour of Denmark in 1996 . He also won several important one-day races , including the Tre Valli Varesine in 1996 and the Pino Cerami GP in 1999 .
In 2005, Guidi tested positive for erythropoietin (EPO) on the Germany Tour 2005 . Then he questioned the test procedure. In 2008 he was banned for two years for doping . The B sample was later rated negative, Guidi was acquitted and was able to compete in races until the end of his career after the 2007 season.
After retiring as a racing cyclist, he worked as a sports director , first at Nippon-Endeka (2008) and then from 2011 to 2014 with Tinkoff-Saxo . For the 2015 season, he joined the technical staff of the Cannondale-Garmin team.
