Wagenbauanstalt Oldenburg

The Wagenbauanstalt Oldenburg (WOAG) was a German mechanical engineering company that was based in the Oldenburg district of Osternburg from 1916 to 1926 .

history

The company was founded in 1916 as a stock corporation on the site of the former Drielake estate and initially only had 8 employees. It initially produced mounts , wagons and ammunition boxes, especially for use in the First World War , which quickly increased the workforce to 170 employees.

It also produced tram cars , some of which were used in Osnabrück until 1960.

From 1921 to 1926 the company produced around 150 motorcycles of the brand WOAG on.

In 1926 the company was closed due to a lack of skilled workers and insufficient capital.
