WOUB-AM is a public radio station in Athens . In contrast to its sister station WOUB-FM, WOUB-AM is a more community-oriented station for the citizens of Athens County , broadcasting alternative music programs as well as acquisitions by the BBC World Service.

The station is owned and operated by Ohio University . While most transmitters reduce their power at night, WOUB-AM broadcasts with 1 kW until the end of broadcasting at midnight, while broadcasting during the day (from 6 a.m.) with 0.5 kW. The transmission frequency is MW 1340 kHz.
