WSTRN is an English rap and R&B band from London .
Band history
Before they merged, the three members of WSTRN were already active as independent musicians: Akelle Charles as a rapper, his cousin Haile as a singer and songwriter and their mutual friend Louis Rei also as a rapper. In a joint session, the song In2 was created , which they first published under a combination of their individual names . When it became clear that the song could be a hit and they were signed by Atlantic Records , they gave themselves the name WSTRN, alluding to their common ancestry in West London . In autumn they published In2 with video on the Internet and from November as a download. In Soundcloud it came to just under 3 million hits, the remix with Wretch 32 , Chip & Geko was at YouTube seen nearly 5 million copies in the UK charts , the song peaked at fourth
At the end of the year, WSTRN ranked 5th in the BBC Sound of 2016 survey among the most promising newcomers of the following year.
