Wretch 32 (2011)

Wretch 32 (* 9. March 1985 in London , real name Jermaine Scott ) is a British Grime - Rapper and MC from North London.

Career

Wretch 32 comes from the London borough of Tottenham , where the grim musicians Skepta , Chipmunk and Jme also come from. In the 2000s he joined the grime collectives Combination Chain Gang and The Movement and attracted attention with his mix tapes. He sold over 15,000 pieces of his self-produced tapes in the area in which he lives. At the end of the decade he was signed to the Ministry of Sound label . The BBC then predicted the breakthrough for 2011 in the Sound of 2011 survey . In January of that year, his debut single Traktor was released , which immediately took it to number 5 in the UK charts. Unorthodox followed three months later , a collaboration with rapper Example , which even made it to number 2.
