Scientific research on the New Testament

Scientific Studies on the New Testament ( WUNT ) is the title of two series of books on New Testament science . The series is published by Mohr Siebeck Verlag . Long-time editor of the original series was Martin Hengel . In the meantime, the publishing house has passed to Jörg Frey and an international editorial team.

The original series of Scientific Studies on the New Testament , sometimes referred to as WUNT I , dealt with early Christianity and its Jewish and Greco-Roman environment in its publications . In addition to monographs by experienced researchers, this series also includes essays by renowned scholars and conference proceedings on topics in the field.

The younger series Scientific investigations on the New Testament 2nd series ( WUNT II for short ) brings together outstanding dissertations and monographs by younger researchers as well as conference proceedings on essential topics of New Testament research.

Both series have a historical-philological character in common, as well as a strong international, exegetical schools and disciplinary orientation.
