Wahnsinn is a hit by the German singer Wolfgang Petry in 1983. It was composed by Tony Hendrik and the lyrics of Karin van Haaren and the former Wallenstein singer Kim Merz .
The piece was first published in 1983 on the album of the same name and reached number 38 in the German charts. The song only became his biggest hit in 1996 as a remix and after being released again on Petry's best-of album Alles . Today Wolfgang Petry's son Achim will perform with the song. In 1998 the Lollies covered the song, with their version repeating the last word of a chorus line three times. In 2019 Giovanni Zarrella released an Italian cover version with Dammi .
