The Wainfan FMX-4 is an American amateur construction aircraft .

The Barnaby Wainfan, Rick Dean and Lynne Wainfan developed and built as single seat aircraft is carrying hull designed has a piston engine and a fixed nose wheel gear . The first flight took place on April 22, 1993. During the test phase 130 flight hours were collected. According to the developers, the aircraft with the registration number N117WD is easy to control, as it should remain controllable even when it is pulled over (below 61 km / h).

Currently (October 2006) a two-seater variant, called FMX-5, is under development.
