Forest and game sanctuary

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Forest and game sanctuaries are areas designated by the German Alpine Association (DAV) .

As part of the ski mountaineering project, the designation is intended to convince environmentally friendly skiers not to enter the areas marked in the maps by orange areas and often by signs. The areas are only recommendations of the DAV and violations have no legal consequence. However, this is not visible on the signs ("Stop - Wald-Wild-Schongebiet"). Many of the areas have been criticized by mountaineering circles as unfounded and the decision-making process as undemocratic. For example, in the Rotwand area, the quiet areas are rarely observed.
