Waldbröler cattle market

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Waldbröler cattle market is an animal and stuff market in Waldbröl . It was approved on January 12, 1852 by the Royal High Presidium of the Rhine Province of Cologne at the request of the responsible authorities. The permit shows that this market existed before and had been held twice (annually?) Until then. In future, the market could be held on the first Thursday from April to November.

With a few exceptions, it is now held every two weeks on Thursdays. In 1935 more than 20,000 head of cattle were handled here. Today no more livestock is traded. But there are still poultry and rabbits on offer. Up to 15,000 day visitors were counted.
