Forest fire in Madeira 2016

The forest fire in Madeira 2016 started on August 8, 2016 and originated in the municipality of São Roque ( Funchal ). On August 9, 2016, 700 places burned in Portugal, including on the mainland.

On the evening of August 10, 2016, 4 fatalities were known. However, the TV station TVI 24 reported 3 deaths on the same day.

The local judiciary has assumed arson ; Two people were arrested in connection with this.
