Walk in the Sun

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Walk in the Sun is a single from the fourth studio album "Motion in the Ocean" by British pop / rock band McFly , produced by Jason Perry and released on November 6, 2006. It is an original composition of the singer Danny Jones and reached sixth place in the British charts in 2006.

The message of the song is to tread the path of life that lies ahead without fear, even if the course and the direction are still uncertain. The aim is to convey courage and self-confidence to the listener. With the help of the cover design, this message is also underlined.

CD cover

In the design, particular emphasis was placed on transparency and multilayeredness. A field path along a meadow is shown on the outer shell, the end of which is not visible. On both sides there are flowers that symbolize the hidden and uncertain of the future. The name of the singer is also shown as a typographic element in the form of swallows. A part of the CD becomes visible through the cover, showing an excerpt from the lyrics and the portrait of Danny Jones, whose thought bubbles form a golden sun. The back of the case is decorated with the dark silhouette of a man walking down a winding road that ends in a rainbow. The path is lined with sunbeams at the front and a rain shower further back. Here the message of the song was depicted again: You should walk the path in front of you despite possible turns and depths of life, because it could end in sunshine and happiness. The colors are mostly in orange and red tones, which harmonize well with the positive song theme and the warm voice of the singer.

To the music

"Walk in the Sun", a very melodic and rhythmic ballad, is composed in 3/4 time.

It is unusual that, in contrast to most of the other McFly songs, only Danny Jones sings alone and without the support of the second singer, Tom Fletcher.

The calm and relaxed atmosphere of the song is caused, among other things, by the use of the acoustic guitar, the only instrument used.
