The former fortification was a trapezoidal closed ring wall system of which parts of the wall are still preserved. Finds date back to the Latène period . The wall encloses an area of about 16ha. It is partly surrounded by a well-preserved moat. A wall was built in the wall using the wood-earth technique. In the front of the wall, mighty vertical posts were set in at regular intervals and connected with wooden beams and cross anchors. Behind this front, the wall was filled with earth and weathered gneiss debris. Archaeological investigations showed that there was a Celtic settlement of about 6 hectares in the complex.
