Pilgrimage Church of the Birth of Mary in Stallehr

The pilgrimage church of the Birth of the Virgin Mary is a Roman Catholic church in the municipality of Stallehr .

It is believed that the hermit Johann Eble, who lived on the Maisäß Davenna, built a chapel around 1640. In 1750 a new building or renovation was carried out by Heinrich Bagehr. At the beginning of the 19th century the church was extended. The church became part of the parish vicariate of Bings-Stallehr in 1947 and has belonged to the parish church of Bings-Stallehr since 1957.

The church consists of a nave and a choir under a gable roof with a bell tower with a pointed helmet over the choir and a sacristy under a pent roof. There is a stone-framed arched portal under a canopy, above it a picture of Mary with child around 1900.

The high altar with its neo-Romanesque tabernacle was made by the Bertle brothers . There are the figures of Maria with Child from 1640, on the left St. Barbara and on the right St. Catherine from the middle of the 18th century. Above the entrance to the sacristy the figure of St. Joseph with Jesus from the middle of the 18th century. In the choir arch is a 19th century crucifix. A fresco of the Birth of the Virgin, marked 1640 on the nave wall and the glass windows with symbols, hand of God, tower, Pentecost, Eucharist are by the painter Hubert Fritz from 1953. There is a bell by Josef Graßmayr from 1733.
