The Walter Bremer Institute ( WBI for short ) is a state-recognized training institute for pharmaceutical-technical assistants (PTA) based in Solingen, North Rhine-Westphalia . The institute is run by the city of Solingen; It is named after its founder, the former Solingen local politician and pharmacist Walter Bremer .

history

In 1969, immediately after the introduction of the new PTA profession, the institute was founded as a PTA training institute in Solingen thanks to the special commitment of its founder Walter Bremer and was able to train the first PTA a little later.

In 1990 the institute, which had previously been taught in different buildings in the city center, moved to the premises of a former school in Solingen-Merscheid . In 1992 it was renamed the Walter Bremer Institute in honor of its founder .

In 2009 it finally moved to its current location, the Friedrich List Vocational College in the middle of the city center.

Today around 120 trainees visit the institute, another 50 are doing internships. Twelve trained pharmacists are available as teachers.
