Walter Picard Prize
The Walter Picard Prize has been awarded every two years since 2002 by the State Welfare Association of Hesse . It is endowed with 5000 euros, named after Walter Picard .
With the award of the Walter Picard Prize, the merits of Prof. Walter Picard as the initiator of the Psychiatry Enquête and co-founder of the Aktion Mentally Ill e. V. should be honored, reform ideas of the psychiatry enquete should be cultivated, further developed and implemented, public relations work should be deepened for the benefit of mentally ill people.
The Walter Picard Prize can be awarded to people, institutions and organizations that, in the sense of the psychiatry survey, are particularly concerned with the social-psychiatric care of the Hessian population, both in the medical and in the complementary, outpatient, semi-inpatient and fully inpatient areas, but also in the deserve non-institutional areas (e.g. visiting service, advice, neighborhood help).
