Walter Schwagenscheidt House

The Walter-Schwagenscheidt-Haus in Kronberg im Taunus is a former sister residence and is a listed building .

In 1958/59 the nurses' house was built by order of the hospital association and sanatorium Kaiserin Friedrich according to plans by Walter Schwagenscheidt and Tassilo Sittmann . The building at Walter-Schwagenscheidt-Straße 13 was awarded the Hessen Prize in 1965.

The house consists of multiple staggered, cubic components of different heights with flat roofs. The building sections are between one and three storeys high. The arrangement looks random, but follows a clear structure.

In 2012, the monument authorities approved an extension of the building with two modern side wings that harmonize with the old building. The Hochtaunus district association of the German Red Cross, as the owner, invested € 2.65 million in the extension. The renovation was completed in October 2016.
