Walter De Paduwa

Walter De Paduwa (also Dr. Boogie ) is a musicologist and radio announcer living in Overijse, Belgium . Since 1994 he has been working for Classic21 , a program of the Belgian public broadcaster RTBF . There he moderates the weekly program Dr. Boogie , in which he deals with boogie , blues , rock and "other Zydeco ".

meaning

In the mid-1970s he wrote with guitarist Dany Lademacher and bassist Dany Charles Deraedemaecker for the British band TUSH De Paduwa collects rare records of R&B, blues rock and rockabilly . His house is known in the boogie scene as The Boogie House because he turned it into a small private museum. His story is closely linked to that of the American boogie band Canned Heat , which named him their historian. De Paduwa supported the band; he also brought out the Canned Heat CD series The Boogie House Tapes from his archives . He also produced the CD Rarities from the Bob Hite Vaults , which features records and recordings from Bob Hite's archive , most of which he now owns. In the meantime he has released further samplers with records from Hite's archive.
