Walter Kliemt

Walter Kliemt (born January 21, 1920 in Mönchengladbach ; † December 5, 2003 ) was a German SPD politician .

education and profession

Walter Kliemt attended grammar school, which he graduated from high school. He then took a degree in business administration and economics and from 1947 received a degree in business administration. In 1948 the doctorate to Dr. rer. pole. From 1948 to 1949 he worked in fiduciary services. From 1949 to 1951 he was a consultant in the NRW Ministry of Labor. Kliemt was councilor of the city of Dortmund from 1952 to 1955 and from 1955 to 1967 senior city director of the city of Dortmund. As chairman of the supervisory board of the United Electricity Works Westphalia (VEW) from 1963 to 1967, as director (member of the board) from 1967 to 1983.

Walter Kliemt was a member of the SPD from 1945. He became a member of the Public Services, Transport and Traffic Union (ÖTV) in 1949. He acted as chairman of the State Transport Association of Westphalia and from 1955 to 1967 he was a member of the Westphalia-Lippe Regional Assembly.

Walter Kliemt was a directly elected member of the 5th and 6th state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia from July 23, 1962 to July 25, 1970 for constituency 106 Dortmund I and constituency 109 Dortmund I.
